Well done to the boys of Rutherford House who have won the Caritas Shield for a second year in succession.
The Caritas Shield is awarded to the House that has shown the most endeavour in charitable activities during the year. It is not just awarded for raising the most amount of money but for showing the true spirit of caritas, which is the Latin word for charity.
Rutherford were declared this year’s winners for raising a significant amount of money again for their House charity Movember, for consistently supporting school charity events throughout the year and for students showing great initiative in leading the School’s fundraising activities.
At the presentation, mention was also given to Farwell for their work with Rocking Horse, St Bede’s for their efforts with Mencap and the Lucy Rayner Foundation, plus St Mary’s for their continued support of Befriended.
Well done to all students who have been involved in any charitable activities this academic year.
