All students at Worth get a chance to get involved in debating through the annual Inter-House Debating Competition.
The School runs a Debating Society which has been highly successful in recent years, including winning the Hartland International Debating Competition earlier this year, and there is also a Junior Debating Society.
The Inter-House Debating Competition allows a wider range of students to experience debating, with all 10 Houses entering teams.
This year’s competition begins this evening with two debates taking place and there are a further three first round ties taking place this week, including our Junior School team from Austin House. Following second round ties, the final will be on 29 November.
Among the benefits of joining the Debating Society are learning presentation skills through effective speech composition and delivery, structure and organising thoughts, improving critical thinking, listening, teamwork and improving confidence.
Pictured are the Chapman House and Gervase House teams who will be among those competing this week.
