Our fabulous new £2.5m Science block extension will be completed in the Summer Term and will be in use at the start of the 2025-26 academic year.
The project involves constructing a single storey building and infilling the space between the existing Science and Art/D&T buildings to provide three new state-of-the-art classrooms and a new entrance to the department. The building will have its own electricity source and will be net zero.
It will be constructed from materials which relate to the adjacent former stables: red brick walls, plain tile roof, dark timber framed entrance canopy and dark coloured window frames. This palette will ensure the new building has a material connection and adds cohesion to the school site.
This project will benefit all pupils and will be the latest addition in an ambitious programme of development at the School.
Here are the latest pictures from inside the new classrooms. The first image is a computer generated impression of how it will look.
