Superb experience for student

Fri, Sep 26th, 2025

Prior to returning to Worth for his final year in the Sixth Form, Worth student Felix Teller continued his passion for motorsport and high-end engineering during the summer break.

Having previously spent two, one week work experiences at the McLaren Technology Centre, this summer Felix spent two weeks working at Mickel Motorsport.

Mickel Motorsport is owned and run by John Mickel who is a multiple World and UK champion in the National Legends Championship which has been a popular support package to the TOCA British Touring Car Championship at specific rounds over the past few years.

During Felix’s time with Mickel Motorsport, cars returned from racing at Croft race circuit and needed to be turned around in two weeks for their next races at Oulton Park. There was a lot of work to undertake and Felix was involved in the stripping down and reassembly of the front suspension, removal and replacement of rear axles, removal and reinstallation of the engines and work on the body.

The car in the second photograph that Felix is working on is that of young gun Oli Schlup who boasts third place in the 2025 Elite Cup Championship and is a relation to a Worth Sixth Form student.

Felix later supported the Mickel Motorsport crew at the final round of the 2025 Legends Championship at Snetterton in Norfolk.

Worth encourages students to follow their passion and it is fabulous that Felix was able to take advantage of an opportunity like this during the summer.

Well done Felix.
